SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34

Recognizing the outstanding achievements of the Lewis County High
School Marching Minutemen.
Whereas, Since 1993, the Lewis County High School Marching
Minutemen has participated in a national competition in
Washington, D.C., winning the title of best overall marching band
for three consecutive years; and
Whereas, The 1995 competition, again held in Washington,
D.C., was comprised of eighty-six units from around the United
States, with the Lewis County High School Marching Minutemen
returning to defend and win the title of best overall marching
band in the United States; and
Whereas, The Lewis County High School Marching Minutemen,
under the direction of Charles Mohnacky and Linda Goldsmith, is
comprised of one hundred sixty-eight dedicated members whose
musical ability and willingness to practice long hours have
helped to bring the national trophy and title of best overall
marching band to Lewis County High School; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the outstanding
achievements of the Lewis County High School Marching Minutemen
for winning the national title of best overall marching band in
the United States and bringing home the trophy to the excitement
and pride of the citizens of Lewis County and the citizens of the
state of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to the directors of the Lewis
County High School Marching Minutemen, Charles Mohnacky and Linda
Goldsmith.
